Uncovering the challenges of LifeWeb onboarding process

LifeWeb got in touch with us to redesign their onboarding. They had already conducted some foundational user research but needed to learn more about the challenges of their current onboarding.

We helped them conduct this additional research which informed us about the challenges new users face when they add content for the first time.

Wireframing and early sketches shared with the product team to help drive alignment

To find a solution to some of these challenges we replicated their current onboarding flow which helped us visualize the current experience and identify points of frictions.

We sketched some of our solutions in wireframes to get initial alignment from the team.

Moving to high fidelity after multiple user research sessions and testing of low and medium fidelity prototypes

Our low and medium fidelity prototypes proved to be a success in uncovering the ideal user experience and interaction. With the insights gained from these prototypes, we moved forward in creating high-fidelity mockups that accurately reflected the desired solution.

The iterative process of testing and refining resulted in a high-fidelity prototype that met the needs of our users and paved the way for a successful redesign launch.

Additional improvements to the content creation flows

Our final designs included the specific challenges we found around new users adding content for the first time and additional improvements on publishing content in general.

Concept designs to inform the final solution

We also tested with users new (slightly more immersive) ways to navigate the content. We wanted to see if an unconventional navigation pattern could incite them to discover additional memories.

While this particular prototype did not achieve those goals it helped us narrow the vision for what ended up being the final solution.
